The Old Radio Station Days

I was just reminiscing about the "old days"....

Waaay back in the day, I was part of the "Gerk & Goon Hour" (actually, it was 2 hours, but whatever..) on the college's radio station.

The first hour (my hour) was stupid songs, I basically selected 3-4 crappy songs, out of a pool of less than 10 songs, each time, every time. One of them was "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson. The rest of the time would be filled with jokes, running commentaries and interviews. We'd interview local (VERY local) celebrities ("celebrities", as in whoever is within arm's reach and we got them to sit down in front of the mic, so.. "Hey, you're a celebrity because you're on the air.") It was always loud and onceor twice, someone even complained "about the noise".

In the second hour, the selections were Goon's picks of music he'd actually given thought to selecting. Usually it was Rock, with more "Gerk & Goon" commentary and stupidity to fill up the time.

I was thinking "How cool would it be to have a tape of those times. The laughs, the good times...

Actually... I would probably just realize how stupid we really were, and hide the tape somewhere.
