The New Internet Economy

Scott McCloud has a page describing a new way to pay for artists' work (music, art, etc..) online. Basically, if we pay pennies, the artists would still get paid very well, and we wouldn't be "pirates" anymore. He also gives a MUCH truer explanation of what's really going on.
