Trapped in the Land of The Slow

I am writing this from Fla.

HEEEEELLLLLPP!!

This trip serves to remind me that I can NEVER EVER EVER NEVER go back to dial-up. It is agonizing painful to sit and watch (very SLOWLY) images load up one.... by one... by one. HOLY COW! It takes FOREVER to get anything to move. I almost get sleepy.

There's a tvcommercial with a turtle on a slow connection saying "Aaaahhh, it's me time." That is exactly how I feel.

Say a prayer for me. But say it slowly, The God of Florida is CRAZY slow. He might miss it.

The Sopranos Finale

Ok, I was never a big fan of the show, nor did I watch a lot of episodes. But I decided to watch the finale because it was going to be a big thing.

So, even though I'm not a regular viewer, the whole episode I'm thinking "Man, either there's something weird going on, or this show sucks."

Then, the few final minutes finally creep up... Tony and his immediate family are meeting in the diner... Some dude who just SCREAMS of "hit man" gets up, I see a bulge... and... nothing. I thought my cable went out!

I can imagine hundreds of people doing the same thing, banging on their cable boxes. "Friggin' piece of $#@*! Honey, we paid the cable bill, right?"

I was SO disappointed. And I'm not even a regular viewer! So I sympathize with all of you hard core Sopranos fans. One of my coworkers said she called the cable company to switch her from HBO to Showtime, hoping plenty of other subscribers do the same.

There was a HUGE backlash, as seen in the numerous polls conducted by morning shows and via TV, radio and print news outlets. "EIGHT YEARS, AND THIS IS HOW THEY DO US!!?? F' THEM!"

Well, I was browsing around online, and found this explanation for the ending. And, after reading it, it actually made me feel better about it. I'll say it now, because some of you out there are on a "Sopranos Boycott"...

TONY SOPRANO DIED!

At least according to that post. Please read it. Again, here's the link.

Let me know what you think.

VERY slick star chart

Exosolar Planets and Systems

This is a very nice looking application. The brief description I read of it was "It's kind of like Google Earth vs. the entire galaxy." which fits it to a "T". You gotta try it.
