The Beastles

Mashups. You know you love them. I found the site for DJ BC's Mashups who mashed up The Beatles and The Beastie Boys. Some of these are better than the Jay-Z-Linkin Park mashups. My favorite two are: "Sure-Bla-Di Shot-Bla-Da" and "Hold It Together Now". Check them out. GO NOW! (mirror)

Comic Books

Sometimes, when I mention that I collect comic books, someone says "When will you grow up?" But are comic books just a "kid thing"?

Lots of people collect comic books well into their old age. Practically every artist, writer, editor, etc.. is over 21. Many current storylines aren't really targeted to a young audience. Some are definitely too mature-themed for kids.

And the costs? Today's comic books are around the $3 range. The average kid can not afford to buy a bunch of comics like the average kid did back in the 70's and 80's.

Comic books have been a good influence on my life. I definitely learned some of my morals and ethics from comic books. "Be 'good guy' (hero), not a 'bad guy'(villain)."

I love comic books. I don't care if it's not "acceptable". Besides, I've always said, "Lots of people have habits. Isn't it better that it's collecting comics, instead of drinking or smoking up?" Also, it's READING. RIF!

A thought about "The Butterfly Effect" (SPOILERS)

In the movie, Evan's mother mentions having had four miscarriages before Evan was born. Might those fetuses have come to the same conclusion as Evan did in the "Director's Cut" ending, that the world (or at least, people around them) is/was better off without them? That's wild.

DVD Talk: Alternate ending(s) for "The Butterfly Effect"

First, make sure to say good luck to Vilma, she's starting grad school soon. And she'll need all the support she can get. She'll be going SIX days a week! Say, whoa!

Ok, let's move on, this will contain SPOILERS, about the ending, so if you haven't seen this movie yet... TURN AWAY NOW!!

Okay, so the DVD comes with this "Infinifilm" feature which lets you a) get more info about the movie (behind the scenes, bonus info, etc..), b) alternate/deleted scenes, c) alternate endings to the theatrical version, and d) the "Director's Cut" alternate ending.

Now the "behind the scenes" are ok, the alternate/deleted scenes are ok, the theatrical version alternate endings are BO-ZACK! But the "Director's Cut" alternate ending is wild!

First, in the theatrical version, the ending is Kaely walks by and Evan notices her. The theatrical version alternate endings are basically the same, except that in one, she notices him and then keeps walking, (BO-ring). In another, he notices and then follows him. (big SIGH). In yet another, they both notice each other (YAWN!).

Now, in the Director's Cut, towards the end, instead of going back to the party and saying mean things to Kaley so she'll move away and in with her mom, he does something TOTALLY different. He instead watches a home movie of his own mother going into labor. Yup, that's right. He goes back to WHEN HE WAS STILL IN THE WOMB! WHAT!! And what does he do to "fix" the past? He strangles himself with HIS OWN UMBILICAL CORD! It's SO wild to see a fetus using both arms, OUTSTRETCHED, to kill itself. That was a great ending, MUCH better than the theatrical version. If you get the chance, watch it.

Sounds like two drunk cats.

Here are the kids singing in the tub. I have NO idea what Danny is singing, but Caroline is making up a bathtime song, "..and I like the waaaterrr, and I like sooooap, and Mommy is washing meee..."

Umm... "enjoy".
